Isaiah 59:13 (New Living Translation)

We know we have rebelled and have denied the Lord . We have turned our backs on
our God. We know how unfair and oppressive we have been, carefully planning our
deceitful lies.

There are times in our lives when it is difficult for us to face the truth about ourselves or our situations. So we lie and cover up the truth. Continual lying and covering up often leads to us believing the lies and denying there is a problem. We can never experience freedom in our lives in areas where we cannot accept the truth or are unwilling to do anything to change.
