God expects obedience
Deuteronomy 11:16-18 “But be careful. Don’t let your heart be deceived so that you turn away from the Lord and serve and worship other gods. If you do, the Lord ’s anger will burn against you. He will shut up the sky and hold back the rain, and the ground will fail to produce its harvests. Then you will quickly die in that good land the Lord is giving you.
“So commit yourselves wholeheartedly to these words of mine. Tie them to your hands and wear them on your forehead as reminders.
To choose Christ is to choose obedience (John 14:15-21). To become disobedient is to sin or rebel against God’s expectations (1Samuel 15:22-23)
Take time to look at the different areas of your life – personal relationships, behaviour patterns, spiritual and devotional. In what areas have you been disobedient to God’s commandments? What actions do you need to take, now to rectify your disobedience?
Dear God help me to recognise areas of disobedience in my life. Equip me with the resources I need to rectify them, to take the steps I need to and to rely on you as I go to it!
