Living Life Recovery

Humility

Whoever wants to be most important among you will be a slave for everyone. It’s the same way with the Son of Man. He didn’t come so that others could serve him. He came to serve and to give his life as a ransom for many people. Mark 10:44-45

Pride is continually condemned in the Bible. We are God’s creation and none of us are better of worse than any other. We are all sinners. Jesus, Moses and many other admirable characters in the Bible are portrayed as humble men who acted as servants. People who exalt themselves will be humbled. Those who are humble will be exalted. The first shall be last and the last shall be first (Matthew 20:16)

As we progress through the many life stages of recovery we need realise much of our bad behaviour has been a result of our ego; Edging God Out. We need to be realistic in our estimation of self and treat others fairly when we relate to them.
