James 1:27 Real religion, the kind that passes muster before God the Father, is this: Reach out to the homeless and loveless in their plight, and guard against corruption from the godless world.
Out on outreach last night, talking with volunteers between stops we were talking about our individual ways of doing things on life. One of the volunteers commented “I didn’t realise you were so religious” when we discussed our faith beliefs. This took me back a bit as I don’t consider myself religious. Denomination of church, religious practices are not big issues in my life. Big issues for me are: personal connection with God, service to others and doing what God wants how He wants it done.
These are all basics of recovery we all need to apply in everyday life. I thank God He gives me the resources and the ability to adopt these basics each day.
