Remember what happened long ago.
Remember that I am God, and there is no other God. I am God, and there is no one like me. From the beginning I told you what would happen in the end. A long time ago I told you things that have not yet happened. When I plan something, it happens. What I want to do, I will do. I am calling a man from the east to carry out my plan; he will come like a hawk from a country far away. I will make what I have said come true; I will do what I have planned. Listen to me, you stubborn people, who are far from what is right.

Paul requests in prayer that spiritually transformed people continue to mature in their love for God. As we grow on recovery we can also lift others to God in prayer and encourage them as He transforms their lives.
1 Thessalonians 3:12 May the Lord make your love grow more and multiply for each other and for all people so that you will love others as we love you.
Today started as a nice pleasant day on the City of Melbourne. Then suddenly with a clap of thunder and a bolt of lightning the City went dark and was battered by a storm. But in the storm a light shone. A light that brings light to this world we live in. The light of the love of Jesus Christ. When we choose to follow Him we can avoid walking blindly and falling into the traps of life.
John 1:5 The light shines in the darkness. But the darkness has not understood it.
Seek God –
Isaiah 55:6 Look for the Lord beforeitis too late; you should call to him while he is near.
Glorify God –
Jeremiah 13:16 Give glory to the Lord your God before he brings darkness and before you slip and fall on the dark hills. You hope for light, but he will turn it into thick darkness; he will change it into deep gloom.
Keep God’s commandments –
Psalm 119:60 I hurried and did not wait to obey your commands.
Make offerings to God –
Exodus 22:29 “You must not hold anything back when you give me offerings”.
Today at Belgrave South Baptist Church we commenced a new series called ‘Getting Connected’
In his message Pastor Andrew Fisher talked about ‘Social Networking’ and how with some people the more they connect via social network sites and smart phones the more disconnected they become with face to face communication. Social networking can become a place for some of us to hide. This led me to think for myself, who has numerous social networking accounts. “Do my social networking profiles match my face to face profile?”
Ephesians 4:25 says “You must stop telling lies. Tell each other the truth, because we all belong to each other in the same body.” In recovery we all belong together. We are where we are through God’s guidance and we must learn to be open and honest with each other.
We all belong together and Romans 15:5-7 tells us to live in harmony with each other, the way Christ wants us to. Because that is how we will give glory to God and that is how we will honour each other.
None of us will like everyone we come in contact with in recovery, but we are in recovery with them for a purpose. God’s purpose and whether we like it or not they are a part of our spiritual journey. We all have a part to play in recovery. We all matter in recovery. So if you are involved in ‘social networking’ I encourage you to let your social network profile be a true indication of ‘who you really are’
Loving God and listening to God obediently in recovery leads to living settled life. The life that God promises to those who place their faith in His Son, Jesus and trust in Him.
Deuteronomy 30:20 Love GOD, your God, listening obediently to him, firmly embracing him. Oh yes, he is life itself, a long life settled on the soil that GOD, your God, promised to give your ancestors, Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.
Our lives are pulled together by God through learning to read His life-map (the Bible) and following the directions of the Holy Spirit, who highlights the way for us and points us in the right direction, God’s direction in all areas of our lives.
Psalms 19:7-9 The revelation of GOD is whole and pulls our lives together. The signposts of GOD are clear and point out the right road. The life-maps of GOD are right, showing the way to joy. The directions of GOD are plain and easy on the eyes. GOD’s reputation is twenty-four-carat gold, with a lifetime guarantee. The decisions of GOD are accurate down to the nth degree.
The clearer our direction becomes, the more equipped we become to identify God’s way and to point it out to others by way of our own life examples. Sometimes we miss the people God wants us to influence for Him as we get busy with life, or the ways He wants us to influence them because we are looking for something dramatic. Life’s are not always influenced by the dramatic. sometimes all people need is: A listening ear, a smiling face and a shoulder to cry on.
Hebrews 12:15 Make sure no one gets left out of God’s generosity. Keep a sharp eye out for weeds of bitter discontent. A thistle or two gone to seed can ruin a whole garden in no time.
Of out on night outreach in the City of Melbourne after a day spent in communion with God.
Acts 20:28 Guard yourselves and Gods people. Feed and shepherd Gods flock—his church, purchased with his own blood —over which the Holy Spirit has appointed you as elders.
Heard a really good message from Joyce Meyer today about being yourself on the Australian Christian Channel and how God did not call us all to be the same. Then as I listened to LightFm ‘words to live by’ they shared the scripture below. Coincidence?
Me thinks not! God was trying to tell me something. So I took some time to look at what both these messages were trying to say to me.
You see over my years as a Christian I have attempted to be involved in many things. Some successful, some unsuccessful. Today of the successful ones I asked the question ‘Which of these does God want me to use to impact people for Him?’. Because that is the bottom line. We are all called to introduce others to relationship with Jesus, through faith in Him and obedience to God’s Word.
I think I know the answer, but I will wait for God’s confirmation before I share it.
In the meantime ask yourself the questions I did. Because as Joyce Meyers said “there are many things I don’t understand, but when God wants something to happen, He will make it happen and He will make people interested in it” Even if I don’t understand He does.
Luke 14:11 What I’m saying is, If you walk around with your nose in the air, you’re going to end up flat on your face. But if you’re content to be simply yourself, you will become more than yourself.”
Psalms 62:10 Don’t make your living by extortion or put your hope in stealing.
And if your wealth increases, don’t make it the center of your life.
Exploiting others to make our own life easier goes against how God wants us to live. In recovery through faith in Jesus Christ we are called to serve those who are less fortunate than ourselves, not exploit their situation for our own purposes and benefit.
2 Timothy 1:8-9 So don’t be embarrassed to speak up for our Master or for me, his prisoner. Take your share of suffering for the Message along with the rest of us. We can only keep on going, after all, by the power of God, who first saved us and then called us to this holy work. We had nothing to do with it. It was all his idea, a gift prepared for us in Jesus long before we knew anything about it.

Living Life Recovery is a safe place where people can come, share and investigate the realities of God’s promises for themselves.
We believe that as we investigate God’s promises for our lives and practice the ‘Spiritual Principles of Recovery’ as outlined in ‘God’s Word’ we will find the strength and freedom we need to live productive and peaceful lives.
We welcome anyone who has a sincere desire to change their lives. To rise above the pain and turmoil caused by dependencies and compulsive behaviors their own lives or the lives of a loved one or friend.
Responsible Trust in God requires seeking His will and His power to carry it out. This episode is also available as a blog post: https://livingliferecovery.com/2022/05/28/2022-day-148-discussion-starter/
