A Vital Question

C.S. Lewis the one time agnostic who turned Christian wrote “I am trying to prevent anyone saying the really foolish thing that people often say, “I’m ready to accept Jesus as a great moral teacher, but I don’t accept His claim to be God.”

Jesus claimed to be God. He did not leave any option open. His claim must be either true or false. The vital question this poses for us must be answered. We cannot really know the true living God, the power of the Saviourship of Jesus Christ, the gift of eternal life or the relevance of the Bible without our personal acceptance of the Deity of Jesus and belief in Him as God. Whoever rejects this is doomed, upon whom the wrath of God will fall. (John 3:31-36)

The Twelve Steps of recovery are a spiritual process. If you fail to accept the ones that acknowledge the existence of the One True Higher Power, Jesus Christ you will be left with Step 1. Leaving your life  ‘powerlessness and unmanageable’ and no where to turn to obtain the help you need  to resolve it.

Luke 9:20  Jesus said to his followers, “And who do you say I am?”
