Realise that problems are inevitable

Today I am on afternoon shift on the ‘Street Outreach Van’ in Melbourne CBD.

One of the things that happens on my afternoon shift days is I get to experience the family preparation for the upcoming day. This morning I was standing at the sink washing the dishes (doesn’t happen a lot) when Karen, my wife said to me “Is that toast burning?” It  was and I didn’t notice it. Afterwards I thought about the event and God prompted mt to some very interesting scenario’s.

  1. Quite often problems happen around us, sometime to those closes to us and we fail to notice them or assist in rectifying them.
  2. When we do nothing about the next time we go to do the same thing what sort of result do we think we are going to get. This was prompted by watching my wife remove the burnt toast, turning off the toaster and failing to turn it down. What does she think will happen next time she cooks toast?
  3. Problems in our lives are inevitable. The important thing is that we learn from them and don’t keep making the same mistakes. Problems in our life often teach us perseverance, the important thin is to maintain a positive outlook on life and learn to let God handle what we can’t – YET!

James 1:2 My brothers and sisters, you will have many kinds of trouble. But this gives you a reason to be very happy. You know that when your faith is tested, you learn to be patient in suffering.  If you let that patience work in you, the end result will be good. You will be mature and complete. You will be all that God wants you to be.
