Jeremiah 32:18-19 You are loyal and kind to thousands of people, but you also bring punishment to children for their fathers’ sins. Great and powerful God, your name is the LORD All-Powerful. 1You plan and do great things. You see everything that people do. You give a reward to those who do good things, and you punish those who do bad things—you give them what they deserve.
Some of us when we realised we had an addiction wanted to shut ourselves off from society. It felt better to hide than to face the reality of our situation. Then when we come to recovery we prefer to remain silent, avoid shedding light on ourselves. Often preferring not to learn too much about our problem selves or what we need to do to change.
In 2 Corinthians 6:17 in the Bible we are encouraged to separate from unbelievers, to stay away from the things that cause us to sin. None of us can do this on our own. We need God and we need others. It is time to get out of our isolation policy and get into the policy of being involved in whatever God has in store for us.
God, pardon my reserve, my carefully sheltered ego. Deliver me so that instead of observing others experiencing changed lives I too can become an achiever.
