Thought for Today – Archie Boyle

Isaiah 58:11 I will always show you where to go. I’ll give you a full life in the emptiest of places– firm muscles, strong bones. You’ll be like a well- watered garden, a gurgling spring that never runs dry.

This week at Celebrate Recovery on Thursday we are looking at the topic of POWERLESSNESS . This morning at Belgrave South Baptist Church three people shared their testimonies. One gave a great illustration of powerlessness. What he said was:

“I was building a cubby house for my grand children and was using two drills. One cordless (battery operated) the other one that you plug in.”

He then went on to share how we, like the cordless drill, start out at full power but as our batteries deplete get a bit slow and run down and eventually come to a complete stop. Where as the drill that is plugged into the wall has continuos power. Not from the wall socket it is in but from a larger, greater source (the power station)

It made me think of my own faith am I like the cordless drill or the one that is plugged into the Power Station (the Holy Spirit)

Thanks John for sharing your faith in the Power Source today.
