Genesis 2:3 And God blessed the seventh day and declared it holy, because it was the day when he rested from all his work of creation.
Rest is important to maintaining balance in our recovery. We live in an action-oriented world. There always seems to be something to do, someone to see and there seems to never be enough time just to rest. Yet God demonstrated the principle of rest. Jesus also demonstrated this principle when He and His disciples jumped in a boat to get away from the crowds (Mark 6:31-31)
Now we are in recovery new demands may be upon us as we get involved in recovery service, but, times of rest refresh us for quality service and that is much more rewarding not just for us but also for those we serve.
