Christ arrives right on time to make this happen. He didn’t, and doesn’t, wait for us to get ready. He presented himself for this sacrificial death when we were far too weak and rebellious to do anything to get ourselves ready. And even if we hadn’t been so weak, we wouldn’t have known what to do anyway. (Rom 5:6)
The word of God’s love to a prodigal race reminds us what it cost God to send Jesus to die for us.
There is only one remedy for sin. It is the salvation purchased for us by Christ at Calvary. We will remain sinners, growing worse, unless we accept from God the salvation that is greater than any sin.
