The Bible tells us “bread won’t feed men’s souls: obedience to every word of God us what we need.” (Matt 4:4)
Knowing what the Bible says is important in the process of recovery to help us build up defenses against relapse and ‘Stinkin Thinkin’ when it occurs.
Knowing and obeying God’s Word is what helps us follow God’s will rather than going back to our old coping mechanisms.
