Asking God for what you need continually is a good habit to develop. Persistence in prayer with realistic hope and expectation demonstrates to God our trust in His direction for our lives. As we close a year off and open a New One it is time to define how we want 2014 to look.
Discovering God’s loving character encourages us to trust Him and do our part to follow His will for our lives.
“Don’t bargain with God. Be direct. Ask for what you need. This isn’t a cat-and-mouse, hide-and-seek game we’re in. If your child asks for bread, do you trick him with sawdust? If he asks for fish, do you scare him with a live snake on his plate? As bad as you are, you wouldn’t think of such a thing. You’re at least decent to your own children. So don’t you think the God who conceived you in love will be even better?” Matthew 7:7-11
Lord help us today to be direct with You! To be honest with You. And to trust Your leading in our lives. Thank You for 2013 and your active involvement in our recoveries.
Help us as we move into this New Year with You to remain faithful.
