Day 9 – January 9, 2014

Sometimes when we struggle in recovery we feel that nobody really cares or understands what we are going through. Nothing could be further from the truth. Everyone who enters recovery connects with at least one other person in recovery. Usually someone who has had a similar experience to our own, who can empathize with what we are feeling because they have been there and successfully come through it.

Jesus also lived in this world and even though He was limitless in His power subjected Himself to all our human limitations. He suffered as we do and He understands our pain and suffering. He has experienced whatever we are experiencing and He is able to help us overcome everything that may threaten to take away or new found way of living.

“It was necessary for him to be made in every respect like us, his brothers and sisters,so that he could be our merciful and faithful High Priest before God. Then he could offer a sacrifice that would take away the sins of the people. Since he himself has gone through suffering and testing, he is able to help us when we are being tested.” Hebrews 2:17-18

Lord, because you understand and care help me today to overcome anything today that threatens my relationship with You.
