Deuteronomy 6:6-7 You must commit yourselves wholeheartedly to these commands that I am giving you today. 7 Repeat them again and again to your children. Talk about them when you are at home and when you are on the road, when you are going to bed and when you are getting up.
I’d like to think I had a hand in it (but it was mostly his Mother I think!) Today my eldest son Duncan preached his first sermon ever, to the congregation at Belgrave South Baptist Church.
Tomorrow He turns 19 years old and as much as I know the Bible tells us in James 4:6 “God opposes the proud.” or in Romans 3:27 “there is no place for proud boasting in the Christian life.” This father is proud of his son and the way he has developed into such a kind and caring young man who has a strong faith in his Saviour and is not ashamed to show it.
Today as he spoke about ‘God’s Chisel’ and how He (God) wants to shape us all into the people He designed us to be, I am pleased with the person He designed Duncan to be and that He entrusted him to me as his earthly father.
Prayer: Just for today I give thanks to God for all He has given me, since I made a choice to follow Him and be obedient to His leading in my life. Because of that decision I am blessed every day.
