life recovery Bible
2 Corinthians 7:8-9

I am not sorry that I sent that severe letter to you, though I was sorry at first, for I know it was painful to you for a little while.  Now I am glad I sent it, not because it hurt you, but because the pain caused you to repent and change your ways. It was the kind of sorrow God wants his people to have, so you were not harmed by us in any way

None of us like facing the truth!  We try to ignore it or or stuff it down. We may have tried to block it out through our drug of choice. We may have tried to avoid facing it through blaming others  or justifying it in some other way. But the truth doesn’t go away: We need to learn to admit and accept the truth about ourselves, our circumstances and our sins in order to move forward in the recovery process and grow spiritually.

WE NEED TO ACCEPT THE TRUTH AS A POSITIVE PART OF RECOVERY – NOT A PUNISHMENT,
