Thought for Today
IT’S OUR RESPONSIBILITY
Bible Reading: Isaiah 1:2-4

Listen, O heavens! Pay attention, earth! This is what the Lord says: “The children I raised and cared for have rebelled against me.Even an ox knows its owner, and a donkey recognizes its master’s care—but Israel doesn’t know its master. My people don’t recognize my care for them.” Oh, what a sinful nation they are— loaded down with a burden of guilt. They are evil people, corrupt children who have rejected the LordThey have despised the Holy One of Israel and turned their backs on him.

The people of Judah had God to lead them, yet they turned their back on Him. They were responsible for that decision and the consequences that it brought. We need to remember that much of our undoing has been because of our own bad decisions. Some of our problems may be a result of out upbringing, where we lived, went to school, worked. Who our family members were etc. But ultimately responsibility of how we responded to those things and the decisions we made because of them lay with us.

Taking responsibility for our bad choices and their consequences is an essential part of the recovery process..
