Living Life Recovery– STEP SEVEN

Through acknowledgement of God’s supreme power, I humbly ask Him to help me change my sinful habits and attitudes.

“If we confess our sins to him he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all wickedness” 1 John 1:9

Having asked God to help me change, making a commitment to let Him be in control and discovering what i needed to change I started to take action on making changes. I do not recommend anyone does this without God’s help. Because some of the things I had to change about my attitudes, beliefs, behaviours and values were huge.

Philippians 1:6 says “There has never been the slightest doubt in my mind that the God who started this great work in you would keep at it and bring it to a flourishing finish on the very day Christ Jesus appears.”

My responsibility in this step was to stop doing the things that led to drinking and messing up my life. Consciously changing how I thought, acted and reacted. To discover what the Bible said about them and apply that to everyday living, alcohol and drug free.

Progress is impossible without change; and those who cannot change their minds cannot change anything. —George Bernard Shaw
