Deception Weakens the foundations of recovery

STEP 4: WE MADE A SEARCHING AND FEARLESS MORAL INVENTORY OF OURSELVES.

Make a careful exploration of who you are and the work you have been given, and then sink yourself into that. Don’t be impressed with yourself. Don’t compare yourself with others. Each of you must take responsibility for doing the creative best you can with your own life. Galatians 6:4-5

Deception weakens the foundations of our recovery:
Luke 8:17
says “We’re not keeping secrets; we’re telling them. We’re not hiding things; we’re bringing everything out into the open.”

We can’t hide our sins from God. In His eyes our hearts, thoughts and motives are visible/ No matter how much trouble we go to cover up our character defects we can’t deceive him. Instead of hiding our defects the scripture above suggests we carefully explore our defects and strengths and do an honest evaluation of our character. Then, ask God to help us to change the things we need to change and do our creative best to live the best life we can with His help, guidance and encouragement.
