STEP 4: WE MADE A SEARCHING AND FEARLESS MORAL INVENTORY OF OURSELVES
The lips of a seductive woman are oh so sweet, her soft words are oh so smooth. But it won’t be long before she’s gravel in your mouth, a pain in your gut, a wound in your heart. She’s dancing down the primrose path to Death; she’s headed straight for Hell and taking you with her. She hasn’t a clue about Real Life, about who she is or where she’s going. Proverbs 5:3-6
When we begin to develop our dependencies we do it because it seems pleasurable or easier than our other options. It is only after a period of lasting, growing recovery we can recognize how destructive our attitudes and behaviours have become to ourselves and others.
It is important in the process of recovery to ‘ponder the path of life’ Realize that many of our attitudes and behaviours are the reason our lives became ‘unmanageable’ in the first place. It is time now to ‘decide’ that in relationship with God we will courageously take an honest ‘look at ourselves’ That we will seek His wisdom and help to address our defects and change our lives.
