Blame

Every time you criticize someone, you condemn yourself. It takes one to know one. Judgmental criticism of others is a well-known way of escaping detection in your own crimes and misdemeanors. Romans 2:1

Ever since the beginning of time indulgence in blame has been a human weakness. Let’s not kid ourselves. Blaming our circumstances or someone else is a waste of time and effort. God is the favorite object of most blame throwing. We know that if we blame ourselves it adds to our guilt, and is disagreeable, so we choose not to. Blame complicates, wounds. It seldom, if ever heals, builds or resolves/ So, if we know it is going to back-fire on us why blame ourselves?

MEDITATION

Some of the results of blame in our character can be; resentment, aggression, low self-esteem. It alienates and distances us from others, It causes us to be isolates and alone. Through it we rivet ourselves to bitterness, guilt, misunderstanding, rejection, unhappiness and ‘stinking thinking.’ Psychologists say the only people they counsel without any hope of recovery are those completely negated by blame, who refuse to squash their rigid line of thinking.

We have all at some point been sucked into the practice of blame. Like all sins we need to resist it and seek God’s intervention in our hearts when it creeps into our character.

PRAYER
God unload my mind of every callous and corrupt attitude that leads me to blaming.
