It starts with God

God is sovereign, … he holds all things in his hand– Every living soul, yes, every breathing creature? Job 12:9-10

Attention to God leads us out into the open, into a spacious, free life. Romans 8:6

Self-sacrifice is the way, my way, to finding yourself, your true self. Matthew 16:25

God’s wisdom is something mysterious that goes deep into the interior of his purposes. You don’t find it lying around on the surface. It’s not the latest message, but more like the oldest–what God determined as the way to bring out his best in us, long before we ever arrived on the scene. 1 Corinthians 2:7

It’s in Christ that we find out who we are and what we are living for. Long before we first heard of Christ and got our hopes up, he had his eye on us, had designs on us for glorious living. Ephesians 1:11

Journey with purpose

Don’t become so well-adjusted to your culture that you fit into it without even thinking. Instead, fix your attention on God. You’ll be changed from the inside out. Readily recognize what he wants from you, and quickly respond to it. Unlike the culture around you, always dragging you down to its level of immaturity, God brings the best out of you, develops well-formed maturity in you. Romans 12:2

Think it over. God will make it all plain. 2 Timothy 2:7

Let go of past guilt and look ahead to the good things God has planned for you.
