Our personal experience of God working in our lives

It is God’s will that your honorable lives should silence those ignorant people who make foolish accusations against you.  1 Peter 2:15

Our personal experience of God working in our lives through the process of recovery are a better witness of His grace than any sermon. Through our stories others caught up in addiction and compulsion can gain hope that God will do for them what He has done for us.

1 Peter 2.15

What drives your decision making?

Happiness is found in seeking and making the right decisions.
Happy is he who has forgiveness for his wrongdoing, and whose sin is covered. Psalms 32:1

When we are hot tempered we don’t make right decisions.
The hot temper of a fool eventually kills him, the jealous anger of a simpleton does her in. Job 5:2

The more we love the more we become like Jesus.
The person who refuses to love doesn’t know the first thing about God, because God is love–so you can’t know him if you don’t love. 1 John 4:8

Prayer, meditation and studying the Bible leads to right decisions.
faith, and salvation are more than words. Learn how to apply them. You’ll need them throughout your life. God’s Word is an indispensable weapon. Ephesians 6:16-17

A new power is in operation

A new power is in operation. The Spirit of life in Christ, like a strong wind, has magnificently cleared the air, freeing you from a fated lifetime of brutal tyranny at the hands of sin and death. God went for the jugular when he sent his own Son. He didn’t deal with the problem as something remote and unimportant. In his Son, Jesus, he personally took on the human condition, entered the disordered mess of struggling humanity in order to set it right once and for all. The law code, weakened as it always was by fractured human nature, could never have done that. The law always ended up being used as a Band-Aid on sin instead of a deep healing of it. And now what the law code asked for but we couldn’t deliver is accomplished as we, instead of redoubling our own efforts, simply embrace what the Spirit is doing in us. Romans 8:2-4

The power of the Holy Spirit is available to us to help us to fight and overcome our dependencies and compulsions. It means looking outside of ourselves, getting into personal relationship with God to gain access to His power.

God program of recovery is more than able to help us overcome any and every problem that exists or arises in our lives. We can follow his program of daily godly living through the the power of His Holy Spirit living in and through our lives .
