He told me, My grace is enough; it’s all you need. My strength comes into its own in your weakness. Once I heard that, I was glad to let it happen. I quit focusing on the handicap and began appreciating the gift. It was a case of Christ’s strength moving in on my weakness. 2 Corinthians 12:9
Gods power demonstrated in my weaknesses through the process of my recovery encourages me everyday to keep on going. Because of Him I have accomplished far more in my life than I could have ever imagined. Recognizing I was incapable on my own to change my life. Acknowledging I needed His help and learning to rely on Him by putting my faith in Him. The most sensible decisions and actions I have ever made in my life.
Like Paul once I believed the truth of this scripture I quit focusing on my addiction and compulsive personality and started thanking Him for His gift of recovery to me everyday.
In 1989 Jesus invited me to let Him lead and I agreed. Because of that decision my life today is different – in a good way….
