We will all experience storms in our lives, recovery won’t change that. What recovery does change for us is our options. Where we used to run to our habit of choice we now have the option to run to Jesus in the storm, confess our need and trust him to take care of us.
God expects us to be different.
Early in recovery we tend to keep contact with some of our old habits and relationships. We can find ourselves living a double life. Acting one way when we are with others in recovery and another way when we are with people from our past.
Recovery is about changing your life 24/7, not just when you are in meeting or sharing with fellow recovery travelers. It’s hard but it’s worth it.
