We came to believe that a Power greater than ourselves could restore us to sanity.
We are all born weak and helpless. All lead the same short, troubled life. We grow and wither as quickly as flowers; we disappear like shadows. Will you even look at me, God, or put me on trial and judge me? Nothing clean can ever come from anything as unclean as human beings.
God is good and fair, even though life sometimes isn’t. None of us asked to live the lives we have. Caught up in dysfunction, despair and disaster. But no matter how bad our lives have been God offers hope.
2 Corinthians 12:9 says “My grace is all you need, for my power is greatest when you are weak.”
Romans 5:6 says “Christ arrives right on time to make this happen. He didn’t, and doesn’t, wait for us to get ready. He presented himself for this sacrificial death when we were far too weak and rebellious to do anything to get ourselves ready. And even if we hadn’t been so weak, we wouldn’t have known what to do anyway.”
I don’t know about you but that gives me hope and that’s why:
“I’m glad from the inside out, ecstatic; I’ve pitched my tent in the land of hope. Acts 2:26″
