Proverbs 4:1-2 Listen, friends, to some fatherly advice; sit up and take notice so you’ll know how to live. I’m giving you good counsel; don’t let it go in one ear and out the other.

Is the advice you have been given in recovery based on facts? Everyone you meet has opinions, but are they “WALKING THE WALK?” Does their walk line-up with God’s Word? Are they consistent in every area of their lives?

We should never be to quick to accept or reject the advice given to us by others. We need to evaluate it carefully and weigh it up against the teachings of God’s Word. Not all messages come from God and the Bible warns us to ‘guard against false teachers.
