STEP THREE: I am making a decision to let God help me change and commit to working with Him to do so.
Verse for the day: Isaiah 45:18-19 The Lord created the heavens— he is the one who is God! He formed and made the earth— he made it firm and lasting. He did not make it a desolate waste, but a place for people to live. It is he who says, “I am the Lord, and there is no other god. I have not spoken in secret or kept my purpose hidden. I did not require the people of Israel to look for me in a desolate waste. I am the Lord, and I speak the truth; I make known what is right.”
God has built an awareness of right and wrong in each of us: All around the world we live in there is evidence of right and wrong. In the lives of individuals there is evidence of right and wrong. But people are stubborn and selfish. We know what is right and what is wrong but so often we choose to do the wrong thing.
Knowing the right thing is not enough. Through the process of learning and applying the Twelve Steps to our lives God is calling each of us to change our ways, to stop being selfish, to make a decision to accept our selfishness, let go of our stubbornness, ‘to decide to let God help us’ – DO THE RIGHT THING
Admit to God that you are human, that often you fail in-spite of good intentions to live up to your own standards (much less to His standards)
– HEALING IS A CHOICE
