Step Eleven: In order to discover God’s purpose for my life, implement it
and to improve my relationship with Him, I will spend time daily in prayer,
reading the Bible and meditating on it.
You must not give sin a vote in the way you conduct your lives. Don’t give it the time of day. Don’t even run little errands that are connected with that old way of life. Throw yourselves wholeheartedly and full-time–remember, you’ve been raised from the dead!–into God’s way of doing things. Sin can’t tell you how to live. After all, you’re not living under that old tyranny any longer. You’re living in the freedom of God.
God cannot help us in the recovery process unless we let Him. We have to unreservedly and unconditionally ‘Make a decision to let God help us change and commit to working with Him to do so.’
Lot’s of people will tell you they have been able to reduce their sinful behavior on their own. But, self-will cannot transform lives, that requires personal relationship with God.
Acts 16:31 says, “Put your entire trust in the Master Jesus. Then you’ll live as you were meant to live”
Daily spiritual assistance requires daily scripture reading, daily interaction with Jesus and daily commitment to the recovery process.
LIVE EVERYDAY, ONE DAY AT A TIME IN RELATIONSHIP WITH JESUS
