Step Three: I am making a decision to let God help me change and commit to
working with Him to do so
Acts 3:2 There at the Beautiful Gate, as it was called, was a man who had been lame
all his life. Every day he was carried to the gate to beg for money from the people who
were going into the Temple.
This crippled man was helpless, a prime example of a lame duck, carried to and from the gate so he could beg for a few coins to exist.Whilst our lives may not seem that dismal in comparison, think about it. Aware of problems in our lives we turned to our addictions and compulsions just to exist, carried to and fro in life just to achieve the next fix.
As we reflect on our lives, carried around like lame ducks by our bad habits. Crippled and unable to find the strength to walk upright, or take the path to recovery. Just existing, hoping for something better, trying various things to change our lives and avoiding God. Like the lame man at the gate one of our sole perocupations has been with th monotony of it all ‘NO WAY OUT’ Content therefore with our lot.
Thank God today things have changed, a new chapter in your life has begun. You refuse to be beaten. You no longer will give in to the desires of your sinful nature, no longer answer the call of temptation, no longer be a lame duck.
REJOICE TODAY IN THE STEPS YOU HAVE TAKEN TO LEAVE
THE MONOTONY OF THE PAST
