2016 Day 131
Ephesians 1:2 May God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ give you grace and peace.
“One of the commonest errors about Christianity is that it a recipe for being good, that its primary purpose is to tell men how to improve themselves as life goes on. That is a great fallacy. Christianity is essentially a story …. of what God has done about man’s enemies of sin and death, of what He, by His Spirit, is still doing.” (Donald Coggan)
Jesus put it this way Matthew 9:13 “I have not come to get those who think they are right with God to follow me. I have come to get sinners to follow me.” The New Testament e,phasizes the sin and death problems were met head-on at Calvary. Jesus died for us, sinners, and went to battle. Vut He has to win the battle for our lives by our willingness to accept His vistorious salvation. Refusal only causes us to try other solutions for our sin problem.
Many people have tried many solutions to solve the sin problem but there is only one solution andit is acceptance of Jesus Christ as our personal Saviou, repentance of the mistakes of our past and commitment to living according to His plan and His purpose as we move forward in recovery.
Jesus says in John 15:5 “You can’t do anything without me.” He alone is the answer to transformed life. Without Him we are left with this problem: Isaiah 64:6 All of us have become like someone who is “unclean.” All of the good things we do are like polluted rags to you. All of us are like leaves that have dried up. Our sins sweep us away like the wind.
RECOVERY WITHOUT JESUS IS JUST ABSTINENCE
