Colossians 1:15-17 Christ is the exact likeness of God, who can’t be seen. He is first, and he is over all of creation. All things were created by him. He created everything in heaven and on earth. He created everything that can be seen and everything that can’t be seen. He created kings, powers, rulers and authorities. Everything was created by him and for him. Before anything was created, he was already there. He holds everything together.

Who is Jesus Christ? There is a no more important question than this. If He is not God then Christianity can’t exist and millions of people are idolaters. If He is not God then He himself is a liar. If He is not God, He is not good for He claimed to be God.

The Deity of Jesus is a key doctrine of the Bible. Dismiss it or deny it and the Bible is lacking a unifying theme and is weak in it’s authority. When we accept that Jesus is God then scripture becomes both intelligible and meaningful.

When you are asked the question “Who is Jesus?” How do you answer? “For me “He is the Son of God!” “He is God!” and  “He is my Saviour!”  The denials of the Deity of Jesus are all around us. To support them would rob me of the joy I have expereinced through many years of successful reovery in relationship with Him. For me He is God and will eternally be my God and my One True Higher Power.

Matthew 16:15-16 “And how about you? Who do you say I am?” Simon Peter said, “You’re the Christ, the Messiah, the Son of the living God.”
