Philippians 2:3-4 Don’t be selfish; don’t try to impress others. Be humble, thinking of others as better than yourselves. Don’t look out only for your own interests, but take an interest in others, too.
Tonight at B-Together Recovery at Crossway Baptist Church we are looking at our final week on Step Nine:- “We made direct amends to such people wherever possible, except when to do so would injure them or others” I am sure you have all heard the phrase (if you have spent anytime in recovery rooms) “You are doing this for you, not for them.” That doesn’t mean in the making of amends we don’t need to consider the pain and suffering of others.
The second half of this step says ‘Except when to do so would injure them or others.’ This means we do need to consider what affect making amends will have on the people we are approaching.
Before you proceed to make amends to anyone take time to talk to God
about your motives and how they will affect others.
