Daily Reflection October 13, 2016
2 Corinthians 7:10 Distress that drives us to God does that. It turns us around. It gets us back in the way of salvation. We never regret that kind of pain. But those who let distress drive them away from God are full of regrets, end up on a deathbed of regrets.
There are things we all need to face up to and fess up to in order to change our lives. Some of them are things we have been avoiding for a long time. Things we have tried to convince ourselves never really happened or are not that important but they are.
Through the process of recovery God is going to challenge each one of us with our past bad choices, mistakes and defiance. He is going to show us things in our character that we in our own strength and power cannot face or fix. Things that need His intervention, things that are going to play a part in the transformation of our lives.
He is going to bring them to our attention but the decision to do something about them is still up to us. God shows us the direction we need to go in to change our lives but He won’t force any of us to follow them.
Prayer: Lord help me today to recognize your guidance and empower
me to go where You direct me to go and to do what You direct me to do.
