Daily Reflection October 22, 2016
Exodus 17:4-6 Moses cried out in prayer to God, “What can I do with these people? Any minute now they’ll kill me!” God said to Moses, “Go on out ahead of the people, taking with you some of the elders of Israel. Take the staff you used to strike the Nile. And go. I’m going to be present before you there on the rock at Horeb. You are to strike the rock. Water will gush out of it and the people will drink.” Moses did what he said, with the elders of Israel right there watching.
One day, Moses felt threatened by the critical attitude of the people of Israel, they had a ‘drink’ problem …. What they craved was water. Not knowing how to sole their problem Moses cried out to God. In the world we live in there are always people ready to do radical things unless we come up with a solution to their problem.
Like Moses, when we don’t know the solution we have to learn to cry out to God, and to follow His direction for each and every situation.
Prayer: God when I don’t know the answers
teach me to cry out to You, to listen to You and to do what You tell me to do.
