Daily Reflection October 27, 2016

Proverbs 19:14 House and land are handed down from parents,
but a congenial spouse comes straight from God.

The week before I left The Salvation Army Bridge Program in 1989 a girl visited the property to visit one of the staff and God said “She’s the one” I never spoke to her that day. The day after I left the program was a Wednesday and the same girl was participating in Chapel that night. A counselor said to me “Don’t you want to stay another day so you can catch up with her.” To which I answered “Why? Gods on it.” and left.

That Sunday I visited the Church that girl belonged to and my introduction to her was “My name is Archie Boyle and I am a helluva guy. If you stick around long enough you will find out I am telling the truth.” We’ve been together since then.

On the 27th October 1990 we were married, and today we have been married for 26 years. Because God intervened and we both listened. Those twenty seven years have not been perfect but one thing I do know from it is this “When God intervenes He always gets it right.” And my wife Karen is still “the one”

Matthew 19:11-12  Jesus said, “Not everyone is mature enough to live a married life. It requires a certain aptitude and grace. Marriage isn’t for everyone. 12 Some, from birth seemingly, never give marriage a thought. Others never get asked–or accepted. And some decide not to get married for kingdom reasons. But if you’re capable of growing into the largeness of marriage, do it.”

Prayer: Thank You Lord for 26 years of
“growing into the largeness of marriage.”
