Living Life Recovery is about living the life God has called you to live. If you do He promises to look after you. In Matthew 6:25 Jesus tells us not to worry about our lives and material things because there are more important things in life.
Proverbs 15:16 A simple life in the Fear-of-God is better than a rich life
with a ton of headaches.
1 Corinthians 15:10 By the grace of God I am what I am. Serving God requires us to focus on what He can do through us, not what we can’t do by ourselves.
Sometimes when we experience destruction in our lives or observe it in the lives of others we ask the question “Why did God do this.” Sometimes destruction in our lives is caused by the bad choices and behaviours of others. But more often than not it is caused by our bad choices and behaviours. In recovery we need to accept responsibility for our bad choices and behaviours if we want to move forward.
Rely on our strong, loving, just and perfect Higher Power, Jesus Christ
Psalms 37:4-6 Keep company with God, get in on the best. Open up before God, keep nothing back; he’ll do whatever needs to be done: He’ll validate your life in the clear light of day and stamp you with approval at high noon.
Romans 10:11 Scripture reassures us, “No one who trusts God like this–heart and soul–will ever regret it.”
2 Corinthians 6:4-10 Our work as God’s servants gets validated–or not–in the details. People are watching us as we stay at our post, alertly, unswervingly . . . in hard times, tough times, bad times; when we’re beaten up, jailed, and mobbed; working hard, working late, working without eating; with pure heart, clear head, steady hand; in gentleness, holiness, and honest love; when we’re telling the truth, and when God’s showing his power; when we’re doing our best setting things right; when we’re praised, and when we’re blamed; slandered, and honored; true to our word, though distrusted; ignored by the world, but recognized by God; terrifically alive, though rumored to be dead; beaten within an inch of our lives, but refusing to die; immersed in tears, yet always filled with deep joy; living on handouts, yet enriching many; having nothing, having it all.
2017- Day 34
We are accountable to Jesus, not to others:- Romans 14:11 Read it for yourself in Scripture: “As I live and breathe,” God says, “every knee will bow before me; Every tongue will tell the honest truth that I and only I am God.”
