A Safe Place
Psalms 62:8 Trust in him at all times, you people. Tell him all of your troubles. God is our place of safety.
Pour out your heart in prayer to God. Don’t hold anything back. Tell Him everything. Why? Because it is safe to do so.
Pre- recovery I never felt safe anywhere. I trusted no- one and if I am honest never really cared about anyone. I was self- centered and self- motivated. I was always weighing up the WIFM (what’s in it for me) before I proceeded to do anything. I certainly didn’t trust anyone, including myself.
Learning to trust God in my life was a slower process than most people who know me might think. I love this verse in the Bible Luke 16:10 “Suppose you can be trusted with very little. Then you can be trusted with a lot. But suppose you are not honest with very little. Then you will not be honest with a lot.”
– How much can God trust you?
Prayer: Lord help me to be honest and earn Your trust.
