Recovery Devotion #165, 2017

1 Thessalonians 4:7 God hasn’t invited us into a disorderly, unkempt life but into something holy and beautiful– as beautiful on the inside as the outside.

When we fail to meet God’s standards we need to confess our mistakes. In step six we commit to allowing God to change us. He can’t if we don’t allow it or if we aren’t willing to do our part in the change process.

To make mistakes is normal. To keep making the same mistakes is insanity.

One of my favourite statements Is a statement from Joyce Meyer who says “I am not where I should but thank God I am not where I used to be.”

Recovery is a continual process of change that takes time to achieve. Even the smallest step forward is a positive step in the process.

– What Can I do today with God’s help to move forward?

Prayer: God help me today to move forward. Even if it is only a little way help me progress in the process of recovery.
