LLR – STEP TWELVE

Galatians 6.1-10

This week at Living Life Recovery at Connect Christian Church in Hastings we are looking at Step Twelve. Often we get to step twelve and say to ourselves “I must not be there yet because I am not helping anyone.” Chapter 6 in the book of Galatians describes a spirit of tolerance and forgiveness towards people who fail. It also offers encouragement for us when growing tired of doing good and appears we are not getting anywhere.

Step twelve includes so many areas of our lives we don’t always consider in the process of recovery and on Monday, August 21st at 7:30 pm we are going to take some time to look at them.

  1. STEP TWELVE INCLUDES YOUR GROUP

Brothers and sisters, someone in your group might do something wrong. You who are following the Spirit should go to the one who is sinning. Help make that person right again, and do it in a gentle way. But be careful, because you might be tempted to sin too. Help each other with your troubles. When you do this, you are obeying the law of Christ. If you think you are too important to do this, you are only fooling yourself. Galatians 6:1-3

2. STEP TWELVE INCLUDES YOU
Don’t compare yourself with others. Just look at your own work to see if you have done anything to be proud of. You must each accept the responsibilities that are yours. Galatians 6:4-5

3. STEP TWELVE INCLUDES YOUR SPONSOR

Whoever is being taught God’s word should share the good things they have with the one who is teaching them. Galatians 6:6

 4. STEP TWELVE INCLUDES GOD

If you think you can fool God, you are only fooling yourselves. You will harvest what you plant. If you live to satisfy your sinful self, the harvest you will get from that will be eternal death. But if you live to please the Spirit, your harvest from the Spirit will be eternal life.
Galatians 6:7-8

 5. STEP TWELVE INCLUDES OUTREACH

We must not get tired of doing good. We will receive our harvest of eternal life at the right time. We must not give up. When we have the opportunity to do good to anyone, we should do it. But we should give special attention to those who are in the family of believers. Galatians 6:9-10

Join us Monday night at Connect Christian Church if you want to explore the promises of God for your life.
