1 Peter 1:13 Prepare your minds for service. With complete self-control put all your hope in the grace that will be yours when Jesus Christ comes.
2 Timothy 1:7 God didn’t give us a spirit that makes us weak and fearful. He gave us a spirit that gives us power and love. It helps us control ourselves.
Power and love are two of the main drivers of our spiritual growth.
Gods power is available to us through our everyday living. It is easy for us as we go through the process of recovery to believe “God only uses special people and I am not special.”
Often in my life when I talk to the Holy Spirit I ask God the question “Why me?” Because I feel pretty special. Knowing where I was, what happened and where I am now makes me feel like God really cares about me.
Every time I ask God that question He gives me the same answer. “Why not you?” Recovery has nothing to do with how good we are and everything to do with how available we are to be used by God.
Prayer: God use me today wherever You think I am needed.
Great blessings belong to those whose thoughts are pure. They will be with God. Control yourselves and be careful! The devil is your enemy, and he goes around like a roaring lion looking for someone to attack and eat. Refuse to follow the devil. Stand strong in your faith. You know that your brothers and sisters all over the world are having the same sufferings that you have. We have been made right with God because of our faith. So we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ. Through our faith, Christ has brought us into that blessing of God’s grace that we now enjoy. And we are very happy because of the hope we have of sharing God’s glory. With God’s power working in us, he can do much, much more than anything we can ask or think of
Living Life Recovery is a safe place where people can come, share and investigate the realities of God’s promises for themselves.
We believe that as we investigate God’s promises for our lives and practice the ‘Spiritual Principles of Recovery’ as outlined in ‘God’s Word’ we will find the strength and freedom we need to live productive and peaceful lives.
We welcome anyone who has a sincere desire to change their lives. To rise above the pain and turmoil caused by dependencies and compulsive behaviors their own lives or the lives of a loved one or friend.
Many of us wallow in our pasts and sink easily into the harbour of such memories. Ask forgiveness for allowing these feelings to overcome what you know is your new reality. This episode is also available as a blog post: https://livingliferecovery.com/2022/04/27/thougtfortoday/
