Bible Reading: James 1:1-8
James 1:5-6 If you need wisdom, ask our generous God, and He will give it to you. He will not rebuke you for asking. But when you ask Him, be sure that your faith is in God alone. Do not waver, for a person with divided loyalty is as unsettled as a wave of the sea that is blown and tossed by the wind.
We all have problems in life. We know it, others know it and God knows it. It’s seems easier sometimes to deny our problems so we don’t have to deal with them. James 1:2-3 says Brothers and sisters, when troubles come your way, consider it an opportunity for great joy. For you know that when your faith is tested, your endurance has a chance to grow.” Every problem we face in recovery is an opportunity for spiritual growth. A large part of spiritual growth is learning to depend more on God and less on ourselves. And, it’s okay if we don’t know how to solve our problems. God does and the Bible encourages us when we don’t know the answers we should ask Him to help. It also encourages us that when we do ask Him to help we put our trust in Him for the solutions to our problems. Encourages us to stay true to our decision to let Him help and not take the responsibility back for solving our problems.
In every area of our lives we are responsible for doing all we can to make God directed changes but we are not responsible for outcomes. Outcomes are God’s department.
