Proverbs 3:7 Don’t be impressed with your own wisdom. Instead, fear the Lord and turn away from evil.

Pastor Rick Warren said “If you could fix your problems on your own you would have already.” The reality is we can’t. We have all tried and failed, with a true desire to change our wills and lives in our own strength. Wanting to change is not motivation enough on it’s own for any of us to overcome our problems.

We need a power outside of ourselves to change and that power is the Holy Spirit of God. As it says in the verse above “Don’t be impressed with your own wisdom.” We all have good ideas that we fail to follow through on because we are human.

What we need to do is stop doing the wrong things we are doing and replace them with right things (Godly things). What we need to do is ‘turn to God.’ put our faith and trust in Him, be guided by Him and follow through on doing what He tells us to do.
