Living Life Recovery Reflection #267

Reflections Cover

Proverbs 15:1 A gentle answer turns anger away. But mean words stir up anger.

Uncontrolled anger will not repair relationships. The right attitude to people that have hurt you is forgiveness. The right attitude towards those you have hurt is to honestly accept your failure and seek their forgiveness.

Forgiveness doesn’t keep track of offenses. We should always forgive those who have hurt us.

Forgiveness needs to follow God’s pattern of forgiveness. Realising how much God has forgiven us of through the process of recovery we need to be willing to forgive with the same amount of forgiveness. If you are still angry towards those on your list who have hurt, you then you are not ready yet to forgive them or to talk to them about repairing relationships.

  • Who on your list aren’t you ready to talk to yet?

Prayer: God help me identify if there is anyone on my list I am not yet ready to speak to.
