Day: 12 January 2018
12-Two Ears and One Mouth
James 1:19 My dear brothers and sisters, pay attention to what I say. Everyone should be quick to listen. But they should be slow to speak.
I remember when I first came to recovery my sponsor said to me ‘take the cotton wool out of your ears and put it in your mouth.”
The best advice I ever received. None of us ended up here, in recovery because we wanted to. None of us got up one day and said “it’s a nice day, the sun is shining I think I will go to recovery.” We ended up in recovery because God knew it is where we need to be.
My advice to everyone reading this today is listen to those who have been here longer than you. They know more because they have travelled the road longer and have more experience.
- How did you arrive in recovery?
- Are you willing to learn from others?
Prayer: Lord open my ears and my mind. Teach me to listen to and advice and apply it?

Living Life Recovery is a safe place where people can come, share and investigate the realities of God’s promises for themselves.
We believe that as we investigate God’s promises for our lives and practice the ‘Spiritual Principles of Recovery’ as outlined in ‘God’s Word’ we will find the strength and freedom we need to live productive and peaceful lives.
We welcome anyone who has a sincere desire to change their lives. To rise above the pain and turmoil caused by dependencies and compulsive behaviors their own lives or the lives of a loved one or friend.
On completion of my list of sinful habits, I will confess them to God and to someone that I trust. Join me this week for week three of Step Five
