We are each responsible for our own conduct. Galatians 6:5
No one else is going to take responsibility for our recovery, anymore than anyone is going to take responsibility for our mess.
Responsible people admit when their wrongs. We need to take full responsibility for our past, our present and our future. Blaming others will not help us recover. And, we need to prepare for the fact we are going to have to confess our wrongs to God in the recovery process if we want to get well.
Responsible people plan for their future. We need to start investing our time and our skills to the process of recovery. Investing in what is going to help us get well rather than help us to relaps.
Responsible people know their abilities and limitations. What works for ne person in recovery won’t work fro everyone. God in His wisdom created us all in His image, but He created us as individuals. And as indivuduals we need to discove His unique plan for our recovery. Don’t try to take on too much in recovery untill you have found your feet and where you fit in the ongoing process.
1 Chronicles 21:8 David said to God, “I have sinned greatly by taking this census. Please forgive my guilt for doing this foolish thing.” What foolish thing have you done that you need to talk to God about as you take responibility for it?
