The Lord still rules from heaven. He watches everyone closely, examining every person on earth. The Lord rules over the floodwaters. The Lord reigns as king forever. The Lord has made the heavens His throne; from there He rules over everything. These rules are only shadows of the reality yet to come. And Christ Himself is that reality.
Psalms 11:4 ~ Psalms 29:10 ~ Psalms 103:19 ~ Colossians 2:17
Philippians 2:13 God is working in you, giving you the desire and the power to do what pleases Him.
God expects us to follow His rules. If you obey My decrees and My regulations, you will find life through them. I am the Lord. Leviticus 18:5
What He expects from us is clear and right. The commandments of the Lord are right, bringing joy to the heart. The commands of the Lord are clear, giving insight for living.
Psalms 19:8 He gives us clear insight into right living through His Word.
He gave them to us, to follow for our benefit. “You gave them regulations and instructions that were just and decrees and commands that were good.” Nehemiah 9:13
Deuteronomy 32:4 He is the Rock; His deeds are perfect. Everything He does is just and fair. He is a faithful God who does no wrong; how just and upright He is!
Psalms 12:5 The Lord says, “The weak are beaten down. Those who are in need groan. So I will stand up to help them. I will keep them safe from those who tell lies about them.”
The two biggest causes of relapse, in my opinion, are ‘Dishonesty’ and ‘Loneliness.’
To overcome both we need a new source of strength. We need Jesus.
In John 16:33 Jesus says “In this world, you will have trouble. But cheer up! I have won the battle over the world.”
Relying on our own strength is what dragged us down in the past. It is now time to rely on Gods’ strength and to allow Him to help ‘us.
- Can you see how relying on yourself got you in trouble?
- Are you ready to look for a new source of strength outside of yourself
