I Believe That God Exists
Come and listen, all you who fear God, and I will tell you what He did for me. My child, listen to me and do as I say, and you will have a long, good life. Get all the advice and instruction you can so you will be wise the rest of your life. A voice from the cloud said, “This is My dearly loved Son, who brings Me great joy. Listen to Him.” But don’t just listen to God’s word. You must do what it says. Otherwise, you are only fooling yourselves.
Psalms 66:16 ~ Proverbs 4:10 ~ Proverbs 19:20 ~ Matthew 17:5 ~ James 1:22
Listen to those who have already been through what you have been through and have learned to ‘Live Life Recovery’ Pay attention to what they say about God’s intervention in their problems and apply the life lessons you learn from listening to them.
Believing God exists increases our desire to live right
(Genesis 15:6) Abram believed the Lord, and the Lord counted him as righteous because of his faith.A
Belief God exists should be accompanied by action
(Deuteronomy 27:10) “You must obey the Lord your God by keeping all these commands and decrees that I am giving you today.”
Belief God exists affects the way we think about recovery
(Mark 1:15) “The time promised by God has come at last!” He announced. “The Kingdom of God is near! Repent of your sins and believe the Good News!”
Right beliefs are important for both salvation and recovery
(Romans 10:9) If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.
Believing God exists affects how we see and treat others
(James 2:2) Suppose someone comes into your meeting dressed in fancy clothes and expensive jewelry, and another comes in who is poor and dressed in dirty clothes.
This is the first and greatest commandment. A second is equally important:
‘Love your neighbor as yourself.‘ Matthew 22:38-39

Psalms 69:33 The Lord hears those who are in need. He doesn’t forget his people in prison.
It still amazes me, so many years after being in recovery to look back and see God’s intervention.
I remember times where I have thought ‘this is it, it’s all over now.’ And believed it was and something out of the ordinary has happened. Something that has made it possible for me to cope and to go on in hope.
We can’t always see what God is doing in our lives on our behalf He assures us He is always watching, always waiting to help us and always ready to do for us what we can’t do for ourselves.
Living Life Recovery is a safe place where people can come, share and investigate the realities of God’s promises for themselves.
We believe that as we investigate God’s promises for our lives and practice the ‘Spiritual Principles of Recovery’ as outlined in ‘God’s Word’ we will find the strength and freedom we need to live productive and peaceful lives.
We welcome anyone who has a sincere desire to change their lives. To rise above the pain and turmoil caused by dependencies and compulsive behaviors their own lives or the lives of a loved one or friend.
Many of us wallow in our pasts and sink easily into the harbour of such memories. Ask forgiveness for allowing these feelings to overcome what you know is your new reality. This episode is also available as a blog post: https://livingliferecovery.com/2022/04/27/thougtfortoday/
