#35-My Story

Acts 3:16 This man whom you see and know was made strong because of faith in Jesus’ name. Faith in Jesus has healed him completely. You can see it with your own eyes.

We all have a story. I love this verse in the Bible and it tells my story in one verse. I was broken and God repaired me. I was lost and God found me, I was addicted and God healed me.

Anyone who knew back then, who I am still connected to will confirm if you ask them “I am a new creation.” And it’s because I put my faith in God.

Through a daily relationship with the Holy Spirit and belief that I never have to again be the person I was. Today, I can experience God’s healing and spiritual growth.

Recovery is about understanding our own story and giving others hope through sharing it.

  • When did you last share your story with someone else?
  • Do you need to share it today?

2 Kings 7:9 “We shouldn’t be doing this! This is a day of good news and we’re making it into a private party! ”

Good News is for sharing. We should never become so preoccupied with our own recovery that we neglect sharing it with others.

Our responsibility is sharing. We are not responsible for, nor might we ever find out who will respond. We do not know all the opportunities God presents for us to make a difference in the lives of others.

Matthew 28:19 Go out and train everyone you meet, far and near, in this way of life, marking them by baptism in the threefold name: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

Sharing is not optional. Jesus told His disciples to make more disciples. In His command to His disciples, He also commands to reach out to and share our experience, strength and hope with those still caught up in the turmoil of their problems.

We don’t all have to be on a platform. One-On-One, friendship is just as important in the process of giving others hope of a better life as sharing from the front in a meeting.

2 Thessalonians 1:10 He will be exalted by his followers and celebrated by all who believe–and all because you believed what we told you.

STEP TWO: I believe God exists, that he cares about me and He can help me
to regain control of my life. DO YOU?
