Philippians 2:13 God is working in you. He wants your plans and your acts to be in keeping with his good purpose.
Our motivations, faith and obedience cannot be separated in recovery. They are all areas in which God wants to reign.
He created us all with a purpose and He has a plan to help us to achieve that purpose.
Our motivations must be what God wants. Our faith must be in Him and Him alone and our obedience must be to His Word and His direction for every area of our lives.
A word of warning. Everyone you meet in recovery does not have your best interests at heart. Some of them want you to shape your plans to meet their agendas.
Recovery requires intimacy with Jesus in order to discover what He wants you to do.

There’s a way of life that looks harmless enough; look again–it leads straight to hell. Refuse good advice and watch your plans fail; take good counsel and watch them succeed. Jesus Christ rescued us from this evil world we’re in by offering himself as a sacrifice for our sins. God’s plan is that we all experience that rescue.
We plan the way we want to live, but only God makes us able to live it.
